Who looks after this website

Paul Fowler runs Paul Fowler Stories, at https://paulfowlerstories.com. For questions about your personal information or to make a privacy request, please use the contact form.

When you get in touch

The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. These are sent to Paul’s email inbox so he can read and respond to your enquiry. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your message.

The form uses WPForms Lite with spam protection. Cloud entry backup is not enabled. The website is hosted by Krystal, and contact messages are delivered to Gmail. These providers process information needed to deliver their services.

Enquiry information is used to handle your message and any follow-up, based on the legitimate interest of communicating with readers. It is not used to subscribe you to a mailing list.

Comments

If you leave a comment, WordPress collects the details you enter, your IP address and browser information to help manage comments and detect spam. Approved comments and the name you choose are public; your email address is not published.

WordPress may send a hash of your email address to Gravatar to display an associated profile picture. See Automattic’s privacy policy for more information.

Cookies and optional analytics

Essential cookies support website functions and remember your cookie choice. If you choose to save your details when commenting, WordPress uses cookies to remember those details.

With your permission, Google Analytics helps Paul understand visits, pages read and how readers find the site. This may include device and browser information, approximate location and interactions with the website. Optional analytics is held back until you agree. Your contact form’s name, email and message should not be sent to Analytics.

You can reject optional cookies or change your choice using the cookie settings button. Search Console provides information about the site’s appearance in Google Search; it does not require a visitor tracking cookie.

Google processes analytics information under its privacy policy. Some service providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable transfer arrangements.

How long information is kept

Enquiry information should be kept only for as long as needed to respond and deal with relevant follow-up. Comments remain with their articles unless removed. Hosting and email providers have their own retention and backup arrangements.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time. Use the contact form to make a request.

If you have concerns, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

This notice will be updated as the website develops, including if new features such as a newsletter or shop are added.
